Dogs For Life hosts Canine Costume Parade

VERO BEACH — Dogs For Life, Inc. will host the 8th Annual Canine Costume Parade, the Off-Leash Dog Park signature event from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.  Dogs For Life is a non-profit organization that trains hearing and mobility assistance dogs.

The event will be held at the dog park located at 12th Street and 16th Avenue in Vero Beach with the parade beginning at 4 p.m.  Past events have attracted more than 300 spectators and 75 dogs in costume and this year’s event will be even bigger and better!

This year, the event will add the first ever Pet Expo where businesses may exhibit their products and services.  Several levels of sponsorship and exhibit space are available and businesses can place ads in the event program.

The event is free to the public and will kick off a new expanded 4 ½ acre Dog Park membership drive.  All parade entries will receive a prize and this year features the first owner/dog look-a-like costume contest.  Professional photos will be available by Bob Hemstreet, there will be a DFL Dog Bark Mart Thrift Shop, demonstrations, tricks for treats, and a raffle for a free Dog Park membership.

All proceeds will go toward the Dog Park which helps to fund DFL assistance dog and pet assisted therapy programs.
