Staff ReportVERO BEACH — William “Tazz” Anthony Peacock Jr. and Robert “Little Rob” Edward Carhart Jr., who were being sought in conjunction with a Vero Beach robbery-turned-homicide on August 28 are now in custody in the Brevard County Jail.According to Vero Beach Police Department sources, Peacock and Carhart were arrested Wednesday afternoon following an 11-day, two-county manhunt for the two 21-year-old suspects. The specific warrant on which they were arrested was for dealing in stolen property, according to Police Chief Don Dappen. Dappen said no other charges have been filed, but that the two are “persons of interest” in the ongoing homicide investigation. It is not known exactly where authorities were able to track them down, but the location fell in the jurisdiction of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, which made the arrest. They will be held at the Brevard County Jail pending extradiction to Indian River County sometime on Thursday.Charges against Peacock and Carhart stem from a home robbery at the 1500 block of 41st Avenue on Aug. 28. Vero Beach Police Department officers were called to the house at 7:22 a.m. in response to a report of an injured person in the rear yard. The victim of the robbery was severely beaten and found in the rear of his yard. At that time, the photos of Carhart and Peacock were released to the media to solicit tips from the public in finding them in conjunction with a homicide.Investigators went into the home and determined that items were missing from the house. It was reported that a large television was among the items taken. It is not known if any of the stolen items were recovered before or during the arrest.

The subjects had been staying at 1656 3rd Ave. SW, and were last seen there on Aug. 29, said Vero Beach Police spokesman Officer John Morrison.Check back for more details as they become available.
