Fall Classes at the Vero Beach Museum of Art

VERO BEACH — Registration for the Vero Beach Museum of Art’s fall term of art and humanities classes begins at 4 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 and continues during Museum hours throughout the term. The fall term begins September 28, 2008. With a wide variety of 5- and 10-week courses as well as 1-3 day workshops beginning in September, October, November and December, the Museum Art School makes it more convenient than ever for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students to enjoy this unique learning experience. Class offerings beginning in September include Beginning Acrylic Painting, Oil and Acrylic Studio, Fall Studio, Abstract Painting, Pastels: Beyond the Basics, Introduction to Watercolor, Watercolor, Intermediate Watercolor Studio, Watercolor and Beyond, The Portrait in Watercolor, as well as a variety of ceramics and jewelry classes. Classes beginning in October include Basic Techniques in Oil, Creative Painting, Painting ála Prima, Introduction to Pastels, Introduction to Drawing, Photography, and all levels of Ceramics offerings, as well as The World of Peter Lorre (film studies), Introduction to Buddhism (philosophy). Beginning in November the school will offer Drawing, Drawing with Mixed Media, Advanced Drawing, Alternative Printing Techniques, Mixed Media Techniques, Watercolor, Watercolor Studio, Watercolor: Advanced, Pen, Brush and Ink, Metal Fabrication, Sculpture in Bronze, Portrait Sculpture, Intermediate Bronze Sculpture, Fused Glass Jewelry, Jewelry Making with Precious Metal Clay, as well as Trends in International Cinema (film studies). Adult Workshops offered during the fall term include Adult Studio Art, Opera Studies, and Literary Arts. Children’s art classes are also offered.Early registration is encouraged. Registration in-person (4 pm-6 pm) and by-phone (5 pm – 6 pm) begins Tuesday September 8, 2009. Students may arrive anytime after 9 am on September 8 to collect a number rather than wait in line. At 4 pm numbers will be called in order. After that, walk-in registration is available during Museum hours in the Museum’s Education Wing or at the main lobby visitor services desk through the rest of the term.Class brochures with descriptions of courses  and workshops are available at the Museum’s information desk or they can be downloaded from the education section of the Museum’s web site www.verobeachmuseum.org.
