Ellaree Thompson, 94, of Vero Beach, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Palm Garden of Vero Beach. Mrs. Thompson was born July 25, 1915, in Quay, Winter Beach, and was a lifelong resident of Indian River County.
Prior to her retirement she had been a Citrus Nursery Worker for Greene’s Citrus Management in Indian River County and was a member of Kings Baptist Church in Vero Beach. Survivors include her sons, Bill Thompson, of Mobile, Ala., Richard Thompson, of Vero Beach, Robert Thompson, of Vero Beach, Larry Thompson, of Portland, Ore., and Bruce Thompson, of Vero Beach; daughters, Joanne Harrison, of Vero Beach, and Sivey Rouse, of Morristown, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas C. Thompson; and daughters, Jean Renniger and Angela Thompson.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8p.m., Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A life celebration service will take place at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28, at the funeral home with Pastor Buddy Tipton of Central Assembly of God, Vero Beach officiating. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
