Shannon Britt Miller, of Vero Beach, died suddenly of a brain hemorrhage on Aug. 14, 2009, in Vero Beach.
Shannon and her husband, Van, had started a precious family that had only begun to experience all that she had to offer. Shannon graduated from TC Roberson (1992) in Asheville, N.C., and then went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Shannon then moved on to work in Manhattan in footwear publicity for top companies such as Calvin Klein and Donna Karen. She then co-founded Portfauxlio creating works of art on the walls of many homes in the southeast. Then only a few years later, Shannon was one of seven students accepted to FIDM in Los Angeles receiving a Advanced degree in Footwear Design. Shannon was an entrepreneur and founding partner of Shannon Britt Shoes. Shannon had such creative vision with the design of her beautiful shoes. Survivors include her loving husband Van Starling; her 3-year-old daughter, Lilly Britt; and her newborn baby girl, Illa Britt (born on Aug. 5, 2009); her parents, Don and Paula; her dear identical twin sister, Shelby; her brother, Chris (Jen); and her grandparents, Pauline Britt and Ray Miller.Shannon’s family would like to share with everyone that seven of her organs are being donated. Her lungs have gone to a 20-year-old and her heart is now beating in the chest of another recipient. Shannon’s family is able to find some peace knowing that part of Shannon is able to live on that that she has been able to save so many lives.
The Memorial Service for Shannon will be on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at Christ The King Presbyterian Church, 4050 77th St., Vero Beach.
