Mary Erts Sorrentino, 63, of Vero Beach, died Aug. 13, 2009. She was born in Hyde Park, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since 1997, coming from her birthplace.
She was a 1964 graduate of Roosevelt High School and received her cosmetology license from Richard the First Beauty School. She worked at New Image Beauty Salon in Hyde Park. She was employed by Macy’s/Burdines and was a hostess at Cracker Barrel restaurant in Florida. Survivors include her life partner of 12 years, Mace Jones; daughter, Krista Sorrentino, of New York; brothers, Thomas F. Erts, of Georgia, and Michael W. Erts, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; sisters, Carol Bartlett and Kathleen Barton, both of Hyde Park, and Nancy Erts, of Ossining, N.Y.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
A memorial service will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 20 at Sweets Funeral Home, Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from 10 to 11 a.m. Aug. 21 at St. Peter’s Our Lady of Rosary Chapel, Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park.
