Jonathan R. Fairbanks, 75, of Vero Beach, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009. He was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Plymouth, Wisc., and had been a resident of Vero Beach for three years, coming from Reno, Nev.
Mr. Fairbanks is a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean and Vietnam War and retiring after 21 years of service. He was a devoted Shriner and a member of the Order of Quetzalcoatl of Tacoma, Wash., and Reno, serving as a Master Artisan. Survivors include his wife of three years, Ana Krieger Fairbanks; daughter, Ginger, of California; step-sons, Art Krieger, of Vero Beach, and Robert Krieger, of Palm City, Fla.; step-daughter, Karen K. Ippolito, of Tampa; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 17, at Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary in Riverside Park, Vero Beach.
