INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The generosity of several volunteer groups and companies were recognized at the Indian River County School District’s school board meeting Monday evening. Three schools have received more than $7,300 from various donors, which the board approved.
The schools include Sebastian River High, Oslo Middle, and Wabasso School. The Proctor Construction Company donated $1,500 to Oslo Middle. The school will use the money for its Positive Behavior Program, as the company requested.
Wabasso School received $4,050.65 from three groups. Some of the funds will be used to support the school’s efforts to enrich the educational experiences of the school’s special needs students.
The donors include The Knight of Columbus, which gave the school $1,500; The Fraternal Order of Eagles, which gave $1,550.65; and the Minotty Family Foundation, which gave $1,000 specifically to the special needs program.
Nick’s Gardens Inc. gave Sebastian River High School $1,750 for the football team.
