VERO BEACH — Congressman Bill Posey and his staff will meet with Indian River County constituents from 3 to 6 p.m. August 13 at the Richardson Center on the Mueller Campus of Indian River State College in Vero Beach. The local office hours, which Posey does periodically when he is in the district, are meant for constituents to bring problems or ideas regarding federal agencies (Social Security, Veterans Administration, etc) or programs where the Congressman’s office may be of assistance. District Director Kathryn Rudloff said the Congressman and staff normally meet with about eight people during these office hours regarding issues and case work, but Thursday’s visit is set to attract about four times that many people. The proposed healthcare reforms have precipitated so many calls and requests to speak with Posey on the issue that he is planning at least one town hall meeting in Brevard, tentatively set for September 2, and possibly a second in Indian River County that same week. Press Secretary George Cecala said Posey’s staff is still looking for a venue to accomodate the events and that they will release details when a time and place is nailed down for the event.Anyone wishing to meet with Rep. Posey or a member of his staff on Thursday in Vero Beach should call (772) 778-3534 to make an appointment. Anyone arriving without an appointment would get the chance to meet with a staffer, but may not be guaranteed a sit-down with Posey himself.
