Maurice R. Calhoun, 66, formerly of Gifford, died July 25, 2009. He was born in Gifford and lived in Chattanooga since 1970, coming from Fort Pierce.
Before retirement, he was employed by U.S. Pipe and Raytheon in Chattanooga. He graduated from Lincoln Park Academy in 1962. He earned a bachelor’s degree in building construction at Tuskegee Institute. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Lee Calhoun; daughters, April A. Woodall, Debra D. Johnson and Maulice R. Calhoun-Davis; stepsons, Derrick Watkins and Stephen Darryl Leslie; stepmother, Valerie Calhoun; brothers, Fred D. Calhoun III and Donald Calhoun; sister, Janis Byrd; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Bowers Calhoun; and son, Ronald Calhoun.
Services were July 31 in Chattanooga. Arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home in Chattanooga.
