Fernand Joseph Brunet, 92, of Vero Beach, died on July 30, 2009, at the VNA Hospice House. He was born in Casselman, Ontario, and lived in Vero Beach since 1967, coming from Cocoa.
He was a member of the Canadian army from 1940 to 1945. He was self-employed house painter in Cocoa and owned Fern’s Rooming House in Vero Beach until 2004. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for 18 years. He was lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Italian-American Club and the Moose Lodge in Vero Beach. Survivors include a son, Gerald Brunet; daughters, Diane Fetzer and Carmen Gilman; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Annette LaFrance; second wife, Annette; and a child, Rajent.
