Curtis Oliver Wells, 90, of Wabasso, died July 23, 2009, at Consulate Health Care of Vero Beach. He was born in Fort Payne, Ala., and lived in Wabasso for 51 years, coming from Dalton, Ga.
Before retirement in 1990, he worked for Deerfield Grove as a house mechanic for 30 years. He served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include his sons, Gary Wells, of Middleburg, and Larry Wells, of Vero Beach; daughter, Carolyn Halstead, of Fort Myers; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. July 26 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. July 26 at Winter Beach Cemetery, with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3918, Vero Beach.
