Another island burglary in Central Beach

By Lisa ZahnerVERO BEACH — At 2:21 a.m. Saturday, the Vero Beach Police Department was dispatched to investigate another burglary in the Central Beach area, this one at 525 Honeysuckle Lane. When officers arrived on the scene, according to reports on the police scanner, they found that a kayak and trailer had been stolen out of a garage that had been left unlocked and the resident claimed the incident had happened within an hour prior to the call. Police established a perimeter around the home, monitored vehicles going over the bridges and traveling along A-1-A, Beachland Boulevard and Indian River Boulevard. This latest burglary does not fit what has been a string of Central Beach break-ins since Memorial Day. In the other four, burglars entered the homes, proceeded to the bedrooms and took only jewely. Anyone having information on this or any of the beachside burglaries should call Officer John Morrison of the Vero Beach Police Department at (772) 978-4649 who coordinates the Central Beach Neighborhood Watch.
