Alma DeLagarde Brideau, 101, Vero Beach

Alma DeLagarde Brideau, 101, of Vero Beach, died July 21, 2009, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. She was born in New Brunswick, Canada. She moved to the United States in the 1920s and became a U.S. citizen in 1939. A former resident of Tarrytown, N.Y., and Ossining, N.Y., she moved to Vero Beach in 2002.

Before retirement in 1972, she worked at the White Plains Hospital in White Plains, N.Y., for 42 years. Survivors include her stepsons, Raymond Brideau Jr., of Vero Beach, Richard Brideau, of Haverhill, Mass., and Leonard Brideau, of Morgantown, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brideau Sr.; and stepson, Robert Brideau.
