Robert A. Blount Jr., 63, of Vero Beach, died July 17, 2009, at his residence after a bout with lung cancer. Mr. Blount was born June 22, 1946, in Geneva, Ind., and was a resident of Vero Beach for nine years coming from Moultrie, Ga.He was a heavy equipment operator for Community Asphalt and served with the US Army during Vietnam. Survivors include his wife, Amelia; two sons, Allen Blount, of Pelham, Ga., Kevin Blount, of Blythewood, S.C.; a daughter, Tanya Classon, of Baconton, Ga.; a sister, Lavina Dozer, of Sebastian; step children, Ken Metz, of Bradenton, and Marissa Carlsen, of Vero Beach; and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Elayne.
