Richmond Glover, 90, Vero Beach

Richmond Glover, 90, of Vero Beach, died July 17, 2009, at the Indian River Medical Center. He was born in Ayr, Scotland, and lived in Vero Beach since 1975, moving from Wheeling, W.Va.He served in the Navy on the PCE ‘R’ rescue ship during World War II. Before retiring, he was an assistant fire chief in Wheeling. He was a lifelong lover of golf and the Steelers. He was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge 28 in Wheeling and a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters. Survivors include his sons, Richmond W. Glover, of Palm City, and Daniel Glover, of Westbrook, Maine; daughter, Janet Glover, of Vero Beach; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorena Strauss; his second wife, Mary Kennelly; and a brother, Matthew.Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon July 21 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
