Exchange Club learns about goats

VERO BEACH — Darlene Dollins, owner of Doll Babies Farm of Vero Beach, addressed the members of Exchange Club of Indian River at their weekly luncheon meeting at Culinary Capers on Wednesday, July 1. Doll Babies Farm specializes in raising pedigreed Nigerian Dwarf goats registered with the American Dairy Goat Association, including Gwendolyn, Gretchen, Laura Grace, and Lover Boy. It is the manufacturer of handmade goat milk soaps, available locally.Dollins, a past president of Exchange Club of Indian River, described the characteristics of this breed of goats and explained the process of making soap by hand. The all-natural, moisturizer-rich handmade Doll Babies Farm soaps are available in a variety of colors and scents; the line includes specialty gift sets ideal for children. The weekly meetings of Exchange Club of Indian River feature programs such as this one, on a wide range of business, government and civic, charity, personal, and professional topics. The Club provides the community with programs in youth activities, service, and Americanism. Through participation in its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse, it supports a number of local youth-related charities. The Club also honors students in the Vero Beach High School Performance-Based Diploma Program with Accepting the Challenge of Excellence (ACE) awards each year.
