Rita Rosch Card, 88, of Vero Beach, died July 6, 2009, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. She was born in North Adams, Mass., and lived in Vero Beach since 1978, coming from Terryville, Conn. Before retirement, she was an art teacher for 25 years at Terryville High School in Connecticut and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was a member of the Art Club of Vero Beach, member of the AAUW, Indian River Literary Society and the Vero Beach Opera. She is a graduate of both Columbia University and Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., where she received master’s degrees. She received a bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney B. Card, in 1985. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Vero Beach, P.O. Box 644, Vero Beach, FL 32961. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. July 10 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
