Joanne Cuneo Monroe, 76, of Vero Beach, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at the Somerset House in Vero Beach. Mrs. Monroe was born Sept. 25, 1932, in Omaha, Neb., and moved to Vero Beach 19 years ago from Greenwich, Conn. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, the Grand Harbour Country Club and the Book Club at Grand Harbour, and she was a member of the Republican Women of Indian River.Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Stewart Monroe; sons Paul Cuneo, of Yankton, S.D., and David Cuneo, of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughters Genevieve Davis, of Vero Beach, and Laura Linn, of Ponte Verda Beach; brothers Charles Juergens, of Costa Mesa, Calif., and James Juergens, of Larchmont, N.Y.; sister, Jeanette Schaffer, of Eastchester, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.She was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Cuneo Jr., and her son, Albert Cuneo III.The family will receive friends 5 – 8 p.m., Monday, June 22, at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
