Ann T. Cuthbert, 81, of Barefoot Bay, Fl. passed away at home on Monday June 22, 2009. She was born on March 16, 1928, in Lima, Ohio. She has been a resident of Barefoot Bay for the past 30 years. She worked at the Pro Shop there for many of them. She was also an active member of the tennis club and a bridge club.Survivors include her daughter, Leslie (Les), of Calgary, Canada, and four grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Cuthbert; son, Tom Lake; and brother, Robert Townsend Jr.Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society, 6230 77th St., Vero Beach, FL 32966 or the American Cancer Society, 3375 20th St. #100, Vero Beach, FL 32960.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009, in Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel, Sebastian. Arrangements by Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory.Condolences may be sent to Seawindsfh.com/obit.php.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life. "He was well-liked by teammates and was extremely coachable. His coaches and teammates are taking it pretty hard," Sebastian River High School Athletic Director Jessica Upchurch said.
