St. Francis Manor honors Volunteer of Year Queenie Foster

 

VERO BEACH– Queenie Foster was named 2009 St. Francis Manor Volunteer of the Year, beating out four other worthy residents for the honor.

 

Executive Director Paul Ringenberger, Activities Director Lorane Smith, along with Board President Linda Colontrelle and the Board of Directors, honored both residents and non-residents who volunteer at St. Francis Manor with a most special evening of food, fun, entertainment and awards.

The dinner celebration featured ‘a world of thanks’ theme with a menu of ribs, wings, oriental beef and chicken, lasagna and more. Entertainment was provided by talented violinist Jeffrey Lamothe, grandson of Founder Emeritus, Frank Zorc.

 

 

Five residents were nominated by the staff for volunteer of the year. Those nominees were:

-Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Kraik

-Ray Victory

-Ruth Pellicer

-Harold Rennolds

-Queenie Foster.

 

Residents had the final say and voted Miss Queenie Foster as the 2009 St. Francis Manor Volunteer of the Year. All nominees were awarded prizes with Miss Foster receiving a plaque and other special gifts provided by the Board of Directors.

 

St. Francis Manor has been providing affordable, independent living to senior citizens on a limited income in an attractive, safe, socially supportive environment for 35 years. The Manor was built with private funding and donations and is a non-denominational facility located at 1715 20th Avenue in Vero Beach.
