Pelican Island Preservation Society Annual Meeting

Laura Flynn, wetland scientist for Lewis Environmental Services and Coastal Resources Group Inc., has worked at Pelican Island since 2005. Laura has monitored the restoration projects at Pelican Island, the most recent being 2017, which implemented a small scale oyster reef near the island with the Pelican Island Refuge staff and numerous volunteers including members of PIPS.

Her presentation at the PIPS meeting this month will be a review of work that has been completed at Pelican Island proper and an update on the current status of the island.

The meeting is Monday, April 23, 6pm at the North Indian River County Library, 1001 Sebastian Blvd in Sebastian, is free and everyone is welcome. For more information, visit www.firstrefuge.org or call 772-202-0697.
