Living Shoreline Construction

April 21, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

ORCA is seeking volunteers to assist with the construction of a living shoreline. Living shorelines help to protect the coast and create a quality aquatic habitat.

We need volunteers to help deploy over 400 bags of fossilized shells and coquina rocks.

Please wear tennis shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and bring work gloves and a reusable water bottle. We will have some work gloves to share. Snacks and water will be provided. All volunteers will be required to sign a release form before work begins.

LOCATION: The Indian River Land Trust parking area is located on the north side of 79th Street, east off U.S. Highway 1. (There is a large white sign with blue lettering reading: Hobart Landing, which marks 79th Street.) The Land Trust parking area is at the Toni Robinson Waterfront Trail.

After you park, please follow the signs to arrive at the breakwater site by foot.

If you are interested in helping or have questions, please contact Andrea at abeam@teamorca.org 772.467.1600 Please RSVP to Andrea by April 19
