Each year, there are more than 3500 sleep related deaths among babies born in the United States. Research has shown that 22% of mothers reported not following recommendations of placing their baby on its back for sleep.

Additionally, 39% of mothers reported using soft bedding for sleep, another non-safe practice. We have the opportunity to model safe sleep in our hospital. A portion of this year‘s funds will be used to define and carry out a program of modeling safe sleep for all the mothers and families that come into our delivery room.
