Ballet Vero Beach in “Nutcracker on the Indian River”

We are thrilled to bring our critically acclaimed production back to the stage this season! After a three year absence the full theatrical production returns! Nutcracker on the Indian River retains all the whimsy and magic of the original ballet, but moves the action to the year Vero was founded (1919). By taking the ballet’s heroine, Marie, on a holiday journey form New York to Florida, Fifth Avenue Mansions, Grand Central Station, and rail cars become the settings. Instead of a second act featuring candy characters, Marie dreams of the shores of the Indian River Lagoon, and is entertained by all manner of local flora and fauna. From land cabs to manatees ad river otters to bougainvillea, our productions has become an instant classic which takes all the magic of the stage and uses the magic to both entertain and inspire.
