31 marijuana plants removed from Vero Beach

VERO BEACH – Because of a Crime Stoppers’ tip, 31 marijuana plants have been removed from Vero Beach according to a Sheriff’s Office.

A subject located in the 1800 block of 45th Ave. in Vero Beach was growing marijuana, according to authorities.

The plants were growing in 28-year-old Frank Gallina’s backyard, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Gallina stated that the plants were his and that he takes care of them.

Twenty-one small plants were located in one pot, according to the affidavit. Ten more plants were found just outside the chain link fence in pots.

Sheriff’s deputies also found a small amount, two grams, of marijuana in Gallina’s room.

Gallina faces a charge of marijuana cultivation.
