Major Group Art Show Opens Season at Vero’s Center for Spiritual Care
Twenty-seven of Vero’s best-known artists will gather Friday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Center for Spiritual Care for the public opening of a month-long group exhibition. The show, organized by a local group of art enthusiasts called Friends of Contemporary Art, is entitled “Viva FOCA!”
“We look forward to meeting the many new friends we expect to attend this reception in the Center’s gallery and garden,” said Sharon Theobald, FOCA’s president. “All the artists included in this juried show are members of our group. Although most of them are experienced professionals, the jury selected several newcomers who show the kind of promise that will be exciting to follow.”
The exhibition will feature small works, none larger than 14” x 14”. It will be open to viewers by appointment after the reception through Dec. 30. “All you have to do is call the Center at 772-567-1233 to arrange a personal tour,” said Theobald.
Included in the show will be works by: Rita Barone, Bonnie Bolton, Mary Garvey Beda, Stephen Edgar Bradbury, Ann Chwatsky, Hank Feeley, Ellen Fischer, Patricia Forelle, Mary B. Gallatin, Xaque Gruber, Susan Hale, Jill Kerwick, Barbara Krupp, Shotsi Cain Lajoie, Madeline Long, Gustaf Miller, Janvier Miller, George Pillorgé, Suzanne Roff, Barbara Rowles, Timothy J. Sanchez, Cree Scudder, Sean Sexton, Allan Teger, Emily Tremml, Janet Kipp Tribus and Maciek von Ato.
The Center is located at 1550 24th St. in Vero Beach, at the corner of 16th Avenue and 24th St. “It’s on the edge of downtown,” said Theobald, “just two blocks north of the Main Public Library.”
