North County Aquatic Center to close for month-long improvements

SEBASTIAN — The North County Aquatic Center will close for one month – starting Friday – for several facility improvements, county officials said.

The center, which has a public swimming pool, is located at 9450 County Road 512 in Sebastian, just east of North County Regional Park. The renovations to the facility will include the installation of a new pool liner, a water heater replacement, signage repair, extensive cleaning, repainting and landscape improvements, officials said.

“Live updates regarding re-opening will be posted on social media accounts including Instagram #IRCREC and facebook.com/IRCREC,” county officials said in a statement.

County officials will extend the hours at the Gifford Aquatic Center, starting April 19, while the north county facility will still be shut down. The Gifford Aquatic Center is located at 4895 43rd Avenue.

The extended hours at Gifford Aquatic Center are below:

Mon • 6 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Tues • 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Wed • 6 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Thurs • 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Fri • 6 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Sat • 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

Sun • 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
