While you still have through May 15 to enjoy the “Vero Collects: Hidden Treasures Revealed” exhibition at Vero Beach Museum of Art, another exhibit currently running is only on view through Sunday, April 3: “Martin Puryear: Printmaker.” This exhibition is on loan to the museum. Puryear is known as a sculptor, but is also celebrated for his printwork. An African-American artist, his two years spent with the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone in the mid-1960s impacted his aesthetic. Puryear received the National Medal of Arts from President Obama in 2012 and, in 2019, represented the United States at the Venice Biennale. The Vero Beach Museum of Art is at 3001 Riverside Park Dr. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $8 general, $7 seniors 65 and older, $5 students with ID. Two church sanctuaries turn into concert venues this Sunday, April 3. And they both take place at 4 p.m. Virtuoso pianist Sergey Belyavskiy will perform at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church. The award-winning pianist is from Moscow but now lives in the United States. He was a soloist with the Moscow State and Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestras. The First Baptist Church welcomes the Treasure Coast Chorale in a concert titled “You’ll Never Walk Alone: Hope and Inspiration in Times of Trouble.” In the concert, led by Michael Carter, the 40-voice chorale will sing songs of friendship and togetherness, including “Lean on Me,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” “We Are Family” and many more encouraging songs. The performance is free, but a donation will be requested. Special guest musicians performing include guitarists Dave Mundy and Patrick Gordon, drummer Richie Mola, the Festival Brass Quarter and “The Dolls.” Judy Carter will be on piano. Indian River Habitat for Humanity will hold a major fundraiser, “Habitat’s Island Gala,” Saturday, April 2 at the Beach Club in Grand Harbor. The event includes island music, entertainment and dancing. There will also be cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, one complimentary drink and a dinner. You can also engage in the event’s “Win-Win Auction.” Tickets are $150 per person with funds helping support Indian River Habitat for Humanity. The Environmental Learning Center will offer a bike tour of the Historic Jungle Trail in Vero Beach Friday, April 1 and April 16. These are the last bike tours of the season. It’s an 8-mile tour starting and ending at Captain Forster’s Hammock Preserve, 8610 Jungle Trail, Vero Beach. It includes several interpretive spots. It is designed for people with a basic level of fitness, meaning you need to be able to pedal for two hours without stops. You should bring helmet, sunglasses, water bottle, snack, sunscreen and bug repellent. The cost is $15 adults, $10 children 12 and younger. Discounts available for ELC members. The British farce “See How They Run” has its final performances this weekend at the Vero Beach Theatre Guild.
