Kathryn Applegate O’Brien, 81, Vero Beach

March 29, 1940 – December 28, 2021

Kathryn Applegate O’Brien, age 81, of Vero Beach, was born March 29, 1940, and passed away on December 28, 2021.

Kathryn, better known as Kathy, Aunt Kathy, Great Aunt Kathy, and “Apples” was truly one of a kind.  She was a Florida Gator and a dedicated, lifelong Gator fan.  She was once an avid golfer and a hard worker.

There are so many great stories from her early years bartending at the local landmark, The Tahitian Lounge.  She ultimately retired from the Gould, Cooksey law firm where she diligently kept the books for decades.

Anyone who knew Kathy, knows how genuine, analytical, precise, witty, generous and loving she was.  Her nieces, nephews, great niece, great nephew and close friends meant everything to her, as did her fur babies, Biscuit, Bogey and Mulligan.

She is survived by her nephew, Gary R. Applegate, Jr. (Sarah); nieces, Tandy Applegate Brazie (Bruce) and Toni Applegate Kouns (Donnie); great nephews, Kevin L. Brazie, Kip R. Brazie, Keaton C.
