This highly-acclaimed album, released in 1969, marks a return to the group’s more blues-sound approach while additional sounds on the album draw influence from gospelcountry blues and country rock. The band carries the songs past lyrics and into pure emotion.  There’s an obscure but tangible story line that follows the collection of songs that include “Gimme Shelter,” “Midnight Rambler,” “Let it Bleed,” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”  The album charted top ten in several markets and many of the album’s songs became staples of Rolling Stones live shows and on rock radio stations for decades to come, In 2005, the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and is on Rolling Stone‘s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. Classic Albums Live performs the album in its entirety note-for-note, cut-for-cut and recreates one of the Rolling Stones’ most treasured albums.
