Police seek help to ID chainsaw theft suspect

VERO BEACH — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who they said stole a chainsaw from a store last week.

The theft happened about 8:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at Jordan Mowers – Vero Beach, a lawn mower store located at 1526 Old Dixie Highway. Vero Beach police said the suspect walked in the business grabbed a Stihl MS 881 Magnum chainsaw and ran out of the store.

Officers said the individual then got in a light-colored car and drove from the area. Police on Wednesday released surveillance images on Facebook that captured the incident.

One of the pictures showed the suspect wearing a blue facemask, a light blue cap, a blue shirt and khaki pants. Another picture showed the individual carrying the orange and silver chainsaw.
