1 seriously hurt in 2-vehicle crash at 66th Avenue

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning that briefly blocked 66th Avenue, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.

The wreck involving a white Chevy and a white Ram happened about 6:30 a.m. in the 800 block of 66th Avenue, south of State Road 60, FHP spokesperson Lt. Yanko Reyes said. A person was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Reyes said.

The collision closed all lanes in the immediate area. The roadways reopened by noon, Reyes said.

Highway troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
