Aukemya Montea Dillard, 18, of the 4200 block of 32nd Avenue, Gifford, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest without violence. Dillard was held Saturday at the Indian River County Jail on $51,000 bond.

The Glock pistol was later determined to be stolen out of Sebastian, authorities said. Dillard told deputies he bought the firearm from an unknown person for $500, reports show.

Indian River County deputies responded to reports of a disturbance about 8:30 a.m. at Dillard’s home. Dillard’s mother said she and her son were arguing earlier on Thursday over him not having transportation to work.

The mother said Dillard pulled out a pistol and began waving it around the room. Dillard threatened to shoot his mother if she called the police, reports show.

Dillard broke items in the home, including a microwave, deputies said. Deputies searched a shed in the backyard and found the stolen gun hidden in a dark-colored pouch, reports show.

Deputies recovered the firearm and booked Dillard into the county jail. Dillard was ordered to not have any contact with his mother, court records show.

Dillard has an arraignment at 8:45 a.m. June 18.
