Mary McGowan, 100, Vero Beach
April 5, 1921 – May 2, 2021
Mary McGowan, 100, of Vero Beach, FL passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital.
Mary was a resident of Vero Beach for over 55 years. She had a strong passion for her church St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach where she assisted in many ways.
She enjoyed all card games, especially Bridge, which she played for over 50 years. Mary also followed many sports including baseball, tennis and golf. She always liked to keep herself active and was still driving up to the month of her death.
Survivors include her son Bill McGowan of Vero Beach, and sisters Lee Bologna and Edie Catalano, and brother Ralph Mandarino of New York.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband William and a son Robert.
The family will receive friends at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach from 9:30-11:30AM on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Helen Catholic Church at 12 Noon. Interment will be at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
