Indian River County verified 22 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, along with one new death, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total number of county cases to 12,438, while the death toll increased to 299.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change. Health officials said 124 out of the 299 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 872 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 8,502 were white, 1,239 were black, 1,119 were listed as “other” and 1,468 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 2,238,937, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 35,937.

Indian River County verified 28 new COVID-19 cases Friday, along with three new deaths, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total number of county cases to 12,416, while the death toll increased to 298.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change. Health officials said 123 out of the 298 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.
