Indian River County verified 31 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total number of county cases to 11,397, while the death toll remained at 273.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change. Health officials said 116 out of the 273 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 793 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 15 people still hospitalized as of Tuesday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 7,716 were white, 1,108 were black, 1,024 were listed as “other” and 1,452 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,984,425, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 33,061.

Indian River County verified seven new COVID-19 cases Monday, along with one new death, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total number of county cases to 11,366, while the death toll increased to 273.

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,979,634, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 32,959.
