Indian River County verified 25 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. There was a discrepancy in the verified case numbers for Tuesday, the data showed.

The most recent update showed the county had a cumulative total of 11,264 COVID-19 cases, and 268 total deaths.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change. Health officials said 116 out of the 268 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 783 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 23 people still hospitalized as of Wednesday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 7,624 were white, 1,095 were black, 1,003 were listed as “other” and 1,445 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,957,586, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 32,543.

Indian River County verified 54 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 11,265, while the death toll remained at 267.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 7,611 were white, 1,092 were black, 1,006 were listed as “other” and 1,460 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,952,733, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 32,481.
