Woman critical, man hurt after crash on S.R. 60

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Two people were hurt – including one critically – in a two-vehicle crash Friday on State Road 60, fire rescue crews said.

The wreck involving a red Chevy Traverse sports utility vehicle and a gold Nissan Maxima sedan happened about 1:30 p.m. at S.R. 60 and 82nd Avenue, Indian River County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Kyle Kofke said. An unidentified woman was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce with critical injuries, Kofke said.

An unidentified man was taken to Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The names, ages and towns of residence for the patients were not immediately available.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the cause of the crash.
