Afternoon update, Feb. 2, 2020

Indian River County verified 55 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, along with five new deaths, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 9,896, while the death toll increased to 232.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change. Health officials said 104 out of the 232 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 602 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 25 people still hospitalized as of Tuesday, according to the Florida Agency For Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 6,591 were white, 980 were black, 872 were listed as “other” and 1,371 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,737,640, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 27,269.

Indian River County verified 47 new COVID-19 cases Monday, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 9,842, while the death toll remained at 227.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change. Health officials said 102 out of the 227 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 601 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 25 people still hospitalized as of Monday, according to the Florida Agency For Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 6,553 were white, 973 were black, 864 were listed as “other” and 1,370 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,727,107, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 27,129.
