The Florida Department of Health did not provide an update Friday in COVID-19 data in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday, the agency announced on Twitter. Daily virus updates will continue Saturday.

 

Afternoon update Dec. 31, 2020

Indian River County verified 123 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, along with one new death, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 6,875, while the death toll increased to 159.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change, officials said. Health officials said 80 out of the 159 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 509 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 47 people still hospitalized as of Thursday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 4,580 were white, 685 were black, 569 were listed as “other” and 975 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,323,315, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 21,990.

Indian River County verified 154 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, along with two new deaths, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 6,757, while the death toll increased to 158.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change, officials said. Health officials said 80 out of the 158 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There were 55 people still hospitalized as of Wednesday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 4,489 were white, 671 were black, 564 were listed as “other” and 966 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,306,123, health officials said. The number of virus-related deaths increased to 21,857.

Indian River County verified 53 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 6,605, while the death toll remained at 156.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change, officials said. Health officials said 79 out of the 156 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

Indian River County verified 90 new COVID-19 cases Monday, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 6,553.

The number of cumulative virus-related deaths in the county was 156, health officials reported. The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change, officials said.

Indian River County verified 149 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, covering a 2-day period, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 6,424. The death toll remained at 155.

There have been 483 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

Florida’s cumulative pandemic death toll is 21,295, according to state health officials.
