The U.S. Navy Blue Angels has formally announced that Vero Beach will be part of their 2022 Air Show Schedule. With that confirmation, the Vero Beach Air Show officially scheduled the 2022 Air Show for the weekend of April 30 – May 1, 2022.
Robert Paugh, President of the Vero Beach Air Show, with unmatched enthusiasm for this event, shared: “…this show will definitely be worth the wait – we are delighted to offer our community something exciting to look forward to.” As 2022 event planning will now proceed, Paugh reconfirms that “all 2020 Air Show tickets, vouchers, and parking passes will be honored at the 2022 show.”
Presenting Sponsor for the 2022 show, Piper Aircraft, Inc. is joined by Northrop Grumman, Platinum Sponsor, and all the generous 2020 Vero Beach Air Show Sponsors. All are recognized as loyal supporters of the Vero Beach Air Show, Indian River County’s largest outdoor charity event. Proceeds from the show stay in Indian River County and benefit the Veterans Council of Indian River County and child abuse prevention programs supported by local Exchange Clubs.
When the U.S. Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team arrives in Vero Beach on April 27, 2022, Indian River County will see, hear, and feel the new F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet jets. The team’s new Fat Albert C130-J aircraft will arrive the following day. Marty Zickert, Blue Angels Liaison for the Vero Beach Air Show, has always had a good feeling that the Blues would return to Vero Beach in 2022. When asked, Zickert grins happily and says, “ The Blues have told me time and time again that they love coming to Vero Beach – our special community supports the military, veterans and welcomes them wholeheartedly and they feel that when they fly into town.”
The 2022 Air Show Performers line up will likely include additional military demonstration teams and a variety of civilian aviators. These will be announced as performer contracts are finalized.
