Afternoon update, Dec. 23, 2020

Indian River County verified 89 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, along with one new death, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 6,163, while the death toll increased to 155.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change, health officials said. Health officials said 78 out of the 155 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 482 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 24 people still hospitalized as of Wednesday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 4,088 were white, 635 were black, 490 were listed as “other” and 889 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,234,399. The number of virus-related deaths among residents and non-residents increased to 21,173.

Indian River County verified 74 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, along with one new death, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 6,073, while the death toll increased to 154.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change, health officials said. Health officials said 78 out of the 154 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 4,008 were white, 624 were black, 474 were listed as “other” and 908 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,223,015. The number of virus-related deaths among residents and non-residents increased to 21,052.

Indian River County verified 61 new COVID-19 cases Monday, along with one new death, according to the Florida Department of Health county report. This raises the total amount of county cases to 5,999, while the death toll increased to 153.

The numbers in the reports are provisional and subject to change, health officials said. Health officials said 78 out of the 153 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 476 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 18 people still hospitalized as of Monday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 3,971 were white, 618 were black, 465 were listed as “other” and 887 were listed as “unknown.”

Statewide, the number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,212,581. The number of virus-related deaths among residents and non-residents increased to 20,976.
