Man charged with molesting two children

FELLSMERE — A 26-year-old man who deputies said touched two children inappropriately on several occasions at a residence, was jailed early Tuesday.

The incidents, which the minors said occurred nearly every day, lasted for at least a year, reports show. The children, ages 8 and 9, said Orlin Oddulio Lopez Hernandez told them to not tell their parents what happened, deputies said.

The genders for the youth were not released.

Deputies arrested Lopez Hernandez on two counts of lewd lascivious molestation. Lopez Hernandez was held Tuesday at the Indian River County Jail on $300,000 bond.

Lopez Hernandez, whose family is from Honduras, was also being held on a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Indian River County deputies began investigating reports of molestation Monday. Deputies spoke with the juveniles, who said a family from Honduras was staying at their home for the time being.

The family who moved in was a father and his two sons – one of whom was Lopez Hernandez, reports show. Lopez Hernandez told deputies he inappropriately touched the juveniles by accident, reports show.

Deputies arrested Lopez Hernandez and took him to the county jail.

Lopez Hernandez has an arraignment at 8:45 a.m. Jan. 29, 2021, court records show. Lopez Hernandez was ordered to not have contact with the juveniles.
