Indian River County added 41 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, along with two new deaths, according to the Florida Department of Health dashboard. This raises the total number of county cases to 4,621, while the death toll increased to 129.

The two new Indian River County deaths are:

  • A 68-year-old woman with no travel history and unknown contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Oct. 2.
  • A 68-year-old man with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The man’s case was counted Oct. 27.

The new Indian River County cases can be found on the health department’s state linelist. Health officials said 64 out of the 129 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 401 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 14 people still hospitalized in Indian River County as of Thursday, according to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 2,808 were white, 494 were black, 395 were listed as “other” and 883 were listed as “unknown.”

Details on the total amount of tests conducted in Indian River County were not available.

Statewide, the number of cases increased to 914,333. The number of deaths among residents and non-residents increased to 18,030.

Indian River County added 57 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, according to the Florida Department of Health dashboard. This raises the total number of county cases to 4,580, while the death toll remained at 127.

Indian River County added 32 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, according to the Florida Department of Health dashboard. This raises the total number of county cases to 4,523.

The dashboard showed a cumulative 127 deaths from COVID-19 in Indian River County.

Health officials said the Indian River County death reported Monday was an error. But, a new death – not an error – was announced Tuesday.

The new death was an 82-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person, health officials said. The woman’s case was counted Oct. 25.

Health officials said 64 out of the 127 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.
