Engines roared and motors idled during the fifth Annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show, held Nov. 7 at the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach to benefit the First Presbyterian Men’s Fellowship Charity Fund.

Serendipitously, the car show was held on a rather auspicious date. The first automobile show in the United States was held 120 years ago by the Automobile Club of America, from Nov. 3 to 10, 1900 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Several local car enthusiasts were enlisted to judge a diverse selection of more than 50 antique and special-interest cars, trucks and motorcycles, which drew a steady stream of appreciative fans.

The Charity Fund provides grants to nonprofits that offer services to local residents, including the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch and Space Coast Honor Flight, as well as compassionate aid flights to other countries.
