Indian River County added 40 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, according to the Florida Department of Health dashboard. This raises the total amount of county cases to 3,714, while the death toll was at 125.

Health officials previously said the county death toll was 126. It was unclear if there was a duplicate in the data.

The new Indian River County cases can be found on the health department’s state linelistHealth officials said 64 out of the 125 Indian River County deaths were at long-term care facilities.

There have been 327 COVID-19 hospitalizations in Indian River County, health officials said. The number of hospitalizations and county cases are both cumulative.

There were 11 people still hospitalized as of Friday, officials said.

For the Indian River County cases among residents, 2,090 were white, 423 were black, 368 were listed as “other” and 801 were listed as “unknown.”

There have been 41,504 total tests completed in Indian River County, with 3,714 testing positive and 37,766 testing negative, health officials said. The testing figures account for residents and non-residents.

Statewide, the number of cases increased to 778,636. The number of deaths among residents and non-residents increased to 16,632.

Indian River County added 25 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, along with four new deaths, according to the Florida Department of Health dashboard. This raises the total amount of county cases to 3,674, while the death toll increased to 126.

The four new Indian River County deaths are:

  • A 55-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Sept. 17.
  • A 62-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted Sept. 28.
  • Details on the third death were not immediately available.
  • Details on the fourth death were not immediately available.
