Lillian M. Burl, 98, Vero Beach

Lillian M. Burl, 98, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sept. 24, 2020. She was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Roxbury, Mass., daughter of the late Ethel (Maher) and John Arrigo.

Lil graduated from Chelsea High School. She was proud to work at the Chelsea Naval Hospital in the accounting office.

She married Don July 5, 1942. Don was captured in Germany for over two years. After his return they started a family. She loved being a wife and mother. She married into a large family and enjoyed their visits with them.

She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends and remembered for her helping ways, her kindness, and her good cooking, especially Italian dinners.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish, Pinehurst, Mass., and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Lil has lived in Vero Beach for the last three years.

Survivors include two sons, Donald (wife, Connie), of Burlington, Mass., and Ernest (wife, Beverly), of Vero Beach; eight grandchildren, Caryn, Donald, Christopher, Stephen, Stephanie, Richard, Scott and Kelley; and 14 great-grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews whom she had a great relationship with.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald P. Burl Sr.; her daughter, Donna T. Burl; and siblings, James White, William White, Angelina Holland, Marie Pallidino, Francis Molinari, and John Arrigo.
