Dominick Sclafani, 90, Vero Beach

Dominick Sclafani, 90, of Vero Beach, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

Dominick was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and lived in Yonkers, N.Y., for several years, prior to his move to Massachusetts, with his wife, Alice.

Dominick loved his three children, Donna Parker (Rick), Dennis Sclafani (Barbara), Dina Cutler (Jim); grandchildren; and great-grandchildren very much; as he was loved by them in return and will be missed immensely.

A Mass will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, July 25, at St. Helen Catholic Church. Due to COVID-19, face coverings are required.

Please make donations to Hospice House or Humane Society.

 

Forrest K. Smith, 97, Vero Beach

Forrest K. “Smitty” Smith, 97, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020. He was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., served in the Army Air Corps and attended Syracuse University.

Forrest moved to Vero Beach in 1957 and sold schoolbooks for the Grolier and Steck-Vaughn companies.

He attended St. Augustine Episcopal Church, Vero Beach.

Smitty had a strong commitment to the Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of All Men, and the Community of Nations.  He makes a last and personal appeal that “we cooperate with the United Nations in resolving international disputes.”

He is survived by his four children, Kimbra French, Laurie Smith, Scott Forrest Smith, and Wendy Smith Bushong; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of his Long and Happy Life will be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers or donations, Smitty requests “you say a prayer for peace.”
