Indian River County added 21 new positive coronavirus cases Monday, according to the Florida Department of Health. This raises the number of county cases to 953, while the death count remained at 17.

The 21 new Indian River County cases can be found on the health department’s state linelist.

Health department officials released the names of long-term care facilities with COVID-19 cases. Officials also released the names of the facilities with COVID-19 deaths.

Health officials said eight out of the 17 deaths in Indian River County were at long-term care facilities.

Health officials said a total of 63 residents and three non-residents in the county had been hospitalized due to the virus. The number of county cases and hospitalizations are both cumulative and do not represent the current number of positive cases being traced or the current number of people in the hospital.

There were 22 people still hospitalized as of Sunday, with four in the intensive care unit and three on ventilators, health officials said.

For the Indian River County cases, 387 are white, 60 are black, 193 are Hispanic, 92 were listed as other and the remaining cases were listed as “unknown” regarding race or ethnicity.

There have been 16,292 total tests completed in Indian River County, with 953 testing positive and 15,336 testing negative, officials said. Officials said 25 test results were pending.

The daily positivity rate for Indian River County increased to 5.8 percent, health officials said.

Statewide, the number of cases increased by 6,336, bringing the total to 206,447. The number of deaths increased by 47, raising the statewide death toll in Florida residents to 3,778.

Indian River County added 35 new positive coronavirus cases, along with one new death, Sunday, according to the Florida Department of Health. This raises the number of county cases to 932, while the death count increased to 17.

The new Indian River County death is:

  • An 88-year-old man with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The man’s case was reported June 23.
